I am so happy to shed the old skin of 2025, much like how a snake sheds it's skin to make room for new growth, I am giving my hopes for a prosperous year of the fire horse. It's also Ash Wednesday, marking the beginning of Lent and lots of fish fries.
Not all fish fries are created equal. Some are way better than others and it can take some trail and error to find the good ones.
That being said I think it defiantly helps with setting the tone for spring time especially because the next book (book 2) {title sneak peek further down} takes place in the spring. Washing away all the winter snow, it's going to be very rainy in this one, but I'm not calling it Spring Bound.
A) It sounds weird to me.
B) I take my naming convention of a book based on the story, so kinda like how Patricia Briggs has 2 word titles for her Mercy Thompson and Alpha & Omega series.
So, about this breakthrough with this plot. I still need to polish up the blurb for you, but writing chapter 2 was like walking though sludge. It took forever! At first it was too little information and then it was way WAY to much information. It was driving me crazy almost to the point where it wasn't really fun anymore but a problem I had to resolve to help make it fun again.
I literally had to start from the basic question - what is the point that the scene is trying to make?
When it comes to trying to figure out how to write whats in my head that won't shut up until I get it on paper I find that it helps me to slow down and take away everything that is making it un-simple. Yes, I know that isn't a word but for here it works because it's my blog that no one sees and I can do what I want lol.
Unless you are an actual person reading this then, Hello - thank you for checking out my corner of the internet. Do you have a corner of the internet too?....Can...Can I see it?
I can always build on it, but I need a foundation before anything. But when I finally solved chapter 2 it was like a creative dam of ideas and names and other lore just burst open taking me and carrying me to the shore line where I can see the flow way more clearly.
I can even stick my feet in the water lol
I promise I will have a cover before I release the paperback and ebook on amazon (looking at March for that) but for now if you're interested that is the title of book 2 in the Mississippi River Pack series is called:
Calling Shadows
Now I just have to write the remainder of it, edit it, format it, cover design it, and release it.
This is going to be tricky.
