I have been working on book 2 (Calling Shadows) for i don't even know how long, It's coming together finally and as I start the edits on it I find my self looking forward to diving into book 3.

We all know that there are Intuitive writers and Plotter writers...well....for a long time I considered myself quite the intuitive writer, and would still say that I lean more towards that side of the spectrum.

Including readers! I can't wait to announce the release date, the cover, title, and blurb of book 2 out in the wild and it's so close to being ready to release it almost feels unreal. I know that I am personally very excited to finally get the story out of my head and into the wild. If only I could get the pixelation fixed on the cover image...but that's a problem for later...yeah....later.

Were you guys able to see the full moon last night? Because I didn't! I love the rain and cloudy days and always will but I will say that I do get annoyed when I can't see the full moon.

But here it is...A Simple List of Indie Author Projects that I want to accomplish this year. In no particular order and only some with dead lines and somethings have to happen first before other things can be released.

There are many many many dare I say WAY too many marketing books out there in the world. The ones I have been reading lately have always been suggestions from other indie authors, but I find them to be lacking. Most of them not even worth the credit on audible as they can be less than 3 hours long.

The snow moon has some nice timing with Imbloc being the time between the winter and spring equinox(s) , the moon waxing into full during the rest of winter, landing on Imbloc as full, and waning as winter comes to a close for the season.

Every full moon, the moon song calls to the their beast and they change into their wolf. To hunt, and run and play and fight and explore all night long, just like their wild natural cousins.

Oh yeah, have I struggled with this before.

While I'm not trying to come across as 2026 is the year I change everything overnight, I have thought about how I want to go about this year as far as my writing career goes. At least for the first quarter of the year anyway....mostly...

So naturally, I have a Spotify profile so I can have a playlist for my books, characters and the Mississippi River pack in general. I have always enjoyed working while listening to music, and I know that this isn't a brand new concept for authors, but it's still very fun.

Fox, resident chef and member of the Mississippi River Pack, shuts down his Mediterranean style restaurant, Ménta, for an entire week just to make food for the pack, and has way more food on the menu than I do.

So the monthly check in that I started in October and want to continue through the "ber - months." How are they going? Well, I have had three goals before the end of the year, and there is still some time (albeit not very much of it).

So fun fact, I'm not even exactly sure if everything will make it into the book or not, it's more so for my own reference that I would need it, just to keep my story straight. A preview into my series bible.

I have started a fairly good writing routine as the weather is getting much cooler (finally) and at the cost of my allergies. I swear I never had allergies when I was a kid but when I started living on my own it's like they kicked into full gear.

Week 4 of my write 10k words in a week challenge is next to non existent as I'm recovering from dental surgery that I had on Monday, after a very busy but very fun family event over the weekend. So why was my self induced challenge still a success for me?

That's right, I'm bad at the monthly check in so far considering I'm a week late on this update, and have written absolutely zero words this week. Between family events and prepping for winter, and still looking for a day job and college football season, and cooking and researching projects, I've been a bit overwhelmed. Why is it that our writing plans go array? My goal was 10,000 words a week for 4 weeks (month of October) but alas here we are, another 3k-ish short of my goal at 7,828. But does that mean I failed so far? Or does it mean that I just have to rethink about how to approach my goal? Rethinking my goal it is because October is not done yet. It's finally starting to feel like autumn as it's 67 °F right now.
