I know that I should be talking about Winter Bound and the upcoming release date on September 24th, (41 days at the time of this post). BUT I don't want to make the same mistake that I did last time.
Last time, I wasn't completely out of the writers closet and so I just kept making the same status updates hoping to interact with people and that people would see my book and give a shot on the platform formally known as Twitter.
Now I find that Threads from Instagram are much more enjoyable, at least for the time being they are.
While I am still not completely out of the writers closet but more so than I was then, I have redone my platform and indie author brand online with a revised debut novel. I never paid for ads as I don't have the disposable income right now, nor did I back then.
I want this blog on my author website to be about my indie author journey and the little highs and lows that go along with that. Blog about little things that have worked for me or things that I am trying out that will help me in my indie author career and write my books.
As writing is not my full time job (yet) I don't spend as much time as I would like working on my platform or browsing and interacting with my socials or even writing as much as I would like too. I have however (despite real life things draining some of my energy) developed a habit of keeping a blogging pattern that I believe might work for now.
I even figured out how to make drafts to post on a selected future date.
I know that is like the first thing everyone who starts blogging probably figures out but my point is that I know it now.
So if it works out like I expect, next week's blog should be another "Meet the Characters..."... . Who it's featuring has yet to be decided.
I have also done research on how to do a mood board.
Ideally I would like to do one for each character in the Mississippi River Pack and for Winter Bound itself. After finding out not much about what to include on the mood boards, I decided to just name (or rather show) 'random' things that make me think of said characters. I'll be sure to feature said mood boards when they are created and where I want them to be in future blog posts.
Some things I would feature would be:
A quote
Their career
A past event
Their wolf form (excluding Nada)
What's important to them
A passion or skill they have
Maybe a weather, or landscape they enjoy (?)
Until then feel free to connect with me on my socials (I really do try to show up on there at least once a week or so).
