Things That I Like To Do When Not Writing: Gardening

Now that spring is fully here, I have been gardening, getting dirty, working in the humidity, doing the research the repotting the pruning the watering and finally just being in the company of my small balcony container garden makes me happy and helps inspire me to write.
I reveal in Book 2 that there is a lot a green house in near the back of the Mississippi Wolf Pack manor. That is of course inspired by my own dream garden. As I live in a "city town" - my container garden will have to do.
I will say that it is very nice to sit out there with the plants in the evening and watch the moonrise in the warm air. Assuming there are not too many bugs....
I have about 25 house plants and herbs and some of them include but are not limited to:
Basil
Pancake Plant
Rosemary
Aloe
Spearmint
Lavender
Stevia
Snake Plant (also know as 'Mother in Law tongue)
Thyme
German Chamomile
Jasmine
and various pepper plants
along with a few more that may or may not behave this spring and produce a good harvest. Side eye to the german chamomile but we will see for not they are doing great! That's actually why I haven't bought oregano or cilantro in a few seasons, I enjoy the flavors but for some reason they didn't like my last apartment, and I haven't tried to grow them currently.
I use herbs mostly for cooking, and will use the jasmine, chamomile (flowers) and spearmint and stevia leaves for a soothing tea, or through basil and thyme into my chicken pasta or use the sage leaves that I saved for turkey dinner. Sometimes I will use the sage leaves and burn them like incense to meditate, or the lavender buds to freshen up a space
But cooking will be a different blog post.
I've thought about starting another website blog just dedicated to the research I've done over my 13 years of buying plants and having the best teacher ever - trail and error - tell me how to produce what I want.
But maybe that will be a Q3 thing more than a Q2 thing - as I do have a lot to do already and don't want to spread myself too thin with my energy.
Keep and eye out for book 2 coming later this summer for little nods to my gardening knowledge. To catch up with the beginning of the Mississippi Wolf Pack - check out WINTER BOUND available now on amazon ebook and paperback.
